Leyton Elwin Carter Jr. ’45

LEYTON CARTER died Feb. 6, 1993. Born in Cleveland, Leyton entered Princeton from Western Reserve, joined Canon Club, and received a degree in economics. After WWII service in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a navigator in a bomber group, Leyton spent his professional career in advertising and marketing communications, as a senior executive with the Interpublic group of companies; with Foote, Cone & Belding; and with Gallup Intl. Leyton was for a time a director of tourism for the State of Florida, and retired eventually as a marketing consultant.

Leyton is survived by daughters Karen Wilson and Bridget Long; by a son, Kevin; by four grandchildren; by brothers Brooke, Nicholas, and Zachary; and by two sisters, Mary Carter and Sarah Belogh; to all of whom the Class extends its deep sympathy.
