Linton C. Hopkins ’25

HOP HOPKINS was born in Atlanta Mar. 5, 1903, and died there in Apr. 1989 after a long illness. News of his death has only recently been received.

He transferred to Princeton from Oglethorpe Univ. in Sept. 1923 and played on the "scrubs" football squad and was a member of Tiger Inn. After graduation, he joined THE ATLANTA JOURNAL as a writer and later served on the editorial staff. In 1944, he entered the real-estate business and also taught journalism at Georgia Univ. He was a member of the Driving Club of Atlanta.

He married Mary Wellborn, who predeceased him. He is survived by a son, Linton Jr.; daughter Mrs. Kendall Zeliff; and Mrs. Joseph Raine; a sister-in­law Mrs. Cabell Hopkins w'23; and a nephew John I. Hopkins Jr. ’60.
