Lloyd Alan Laflin ’26

Body

LLOYD LAFLIN died on Dec. 30, 1989, at his winter home in Palm Springs, Calif., ending a long battle with Parkinson's disease, complicated by a broken hip. Lloyd, a lifetime resident of Lake Forest, Ill., will be remembered for his numerous activities while in college. He was photographic editor of the PRINCETONIAN, performed with Theatre Intime, and played the saxophone in both the band and the Triangle Club orchestra. He was a member of Cap and Gown. Lloyd left college at the end of junior year to take a job with Elgin Watch Co., and in time became director of sales and a member of its board of directors. During the war, Lloyd served in the Navy. He left the service as a lt. commander.

For many years Lloyd had a strong interest in seaplanes, and held a number of patents relating to their development. He flew his own seaplane until he was 80. Lloyd is survived by his widow, Patricia, whom he married in 1953, three daughters, Karen Laflin, Mary Moore, and Maureen Cantlin, five grandchildren, and a greatgrandchild, to all of whom we extend our sympathy.
