Lohr Mitchell Dick ’48

Born in Winchester, Va., he was reared in Arlington, Va., where he graduated from Washington-Lee High School in 1944. Mitch came to us from the Naval V-12 unit at Hampden-Sydney College and graduated from Princeton with a degree in economics and a commission as a Navy ensign. At Princeton, Mitch was a versatile trackman, scoring in many different track and field events.

After graduating he received a law degree from George Washington University Law School and was licensed to practice law in Virginia. Mitch went to work as an assistant general counsel in the transportation division of the U.S. General Accounting Office, where he remained for 35 years until his retirement.

Mitch loved Princeton even though the first reunion he attended was his 25th. After that he attended every major reunion and many off-year events.

Faith, Mitch’s wife of 50 years, died in 2002. His survivors include three daughters, Doris Dillon, Laura Mendelsohn, and Donna Buffington, and four grandchildren.
