Louis I. Whitlock Jr. ’33
LUKE WHITLOCK DIED Aug. 23, 1993. He had lived in South Miami, Fla., for many years.
Luke was born in Elizabeth, N.J. He prepared at Pingry and Hun. In college, he was a member of Tiger Inn. He roomed at first with his cousin Ham Whitlock, later with his brother Al, and then with Cy Smith and Frank Glazebrook.
Luke spent five years with the Whitlock Cordage Co., and then took up truck farming. After raising tomatoes in Tobago, BWL, he joined BW.I. Airways and American Airlines. He then went into the horticulture businessdesign and supplyin Miami.
In 195 1, Luke married Josephine Andrews in Miami. She died in 1977. She had a daughter, Allen Williams, who survives.
In addition to our two late classmates, Al and Ham, and his late father, Louis '07, Luke had many cousins and other relatives, many of whom were Princeton alumni. His sister Marilyn, the wife of Dr. E. Tremaine Bradley '31, has kept us informed about Luke's life in recent years, when he has not been well.
To all the family, the Class of '33 extends its deep sympathy.
