LOU LOEWENSTEIN was born in Charleston W.Va. and died on Mar. 12, 1992, at age 88, at his home in Elkins Parks, Philadelphia. Leaving us before graduation, he began his business career in department stores in Pittsburgh and New York. For several years he was in the theater business, managing playhouses. He was also general manager of two productions RED, HOT AND BLUE and ANYTHING GOES, which he named.

During WWII he served as a captain in the Air Corps. When the war ended, he first became a buyer for Lit Brothers department store in Philadelphia and later moved to to Wanamakers'.

He was a member of the board of directors of Settlement Music School and of the Princeton Clubs of New York and Philadelphia.

Survivors are his widow, June; a son, Louis K. (graduate of UVA); and two grandchildren.
