Ludlow S. Fowler ’52

Body

Lud died Feb. 27, 2009.

He grew up in New York, attended the Browning School, and graduated from St. Mark’s before coming to Princeton. His father was a member of the Class of ’17 and his brother, Larned Blatchford (“Pete”) Fowler, who died in 1962, was also a member of our class.

After one semester with us, Lud left and began a lifelong career in hospitality, generally as an entrepreneur owner and operator of food and beverage companies. His career was interrupted only by a stint as an enlisted man in the Army Signal Corps.

His marriages to Elinor Michaelson and Elinor Wolfe ended in divorce. For the Book of Our History he wrote that he was enjoying sailing, bridge, and amateur piano.
