Malcolm Edgar Meistrell Jr. ’60

He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and attended Phillips Academy, Andover, for two years. At Princeton, he played freshman lacrosse and served as business manager of Triangle Club. A history major, he was a producer for WPRB and a member of Campus Club, where he enjoyed bridge.

After graduation, Malcolm completed dental school at the University of Michigan and specialty training in orthodontics at Columbia University. He established a private practice in Port Washington, N.Y., and held a part-time appointment as a clinical professor of orthodontics at Columbia Dental School. Malcolm was a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and president of the Northeastern Society of Orthodontists and Nassau County Dental Society. He also was an avid tennis player.

Malcolm is survived by his partner, Joy Hudecz; his daughter, Victoria Pouncey, and her husband, Christian; his sons, Malcolm E. III ’92, and his wife, Lori, and Walter and his wife, Kendra; his brother, Gerard ’63; and his grandchildren, Malcolm, Abigail, Walker, and Ryder Meistrell and Eliza Pouncey. The class extends its condolences to them all.
