Malcolm Sewall Park ’28
MAL PARK died Dec. 5, 1991, in a hospital in Tyler, Tex. He had lived in nearby Pittsburg since 1979. He was born in Helensboro, Scotland. He received his secondary education at Browning School. He left Princeton after sophomore year, and pursued his studies in art and industrial design at ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris, and he also studied painting in France.
He became an industrial designer for Singer Manufacturing Co., and lived in Mt. Kisco, N.Y. A record of his industrial design work is to be found in the archives of the Smithsonian Museum of American History in Washington, D.C.
Mal married Dorothea Turner on May 31, 1930. He later married Arlene Smith, who survives him, as do a son Dr. Hoderic Bruce Park, a daughter Nancy Coach. man, a stepson J. Thomas Murphy, and a sister Marjorie (Mrs. Gerard) Swope. There are seven grandchildren and nine greatgrandchildren.
Mal continued his interest in Princeton, and was a member of the Princeton Assn. of DallasFort Worth. The sympathy of the Class of 1928 is extended to his widow, Arlene, and to their family.
