Marvin A. Mueller ’63

He was a trust officer with Boatman’s, Commerce, and Bank of Sullivan, from which he recently retired. His local paper said, “He never met a stranger and was always willing to share his deep faith, a joke, or lend a hand,” and that precisely describes the man we knew long ago as a classmate.  

Embracing the role of servant-leader, Marv was on the boards of Greater St. Louis Health Foundation, Boys and Girls Town, Lutheran Family and Children’s Services, Lutheran Senior Services, and the St. Louis National Charity Horse Show Association, and was a proud member of the Wildwood City Council. Also a part-time teacher, he handled business classes at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and at East Central College. He earned an M.B.A. from Southern Illinois University. With his banking career behind him, Marv enjoyed working as a pharmacy technician at Walgreen’s.  

At Princeton he valued being in the marching band, the Concordia Society, Dial Lodge, interclub hockey, and his studies in Spanish and economics. He married his beloved Linda just before senior year. She survives as does his son, Timothy A.; grandchildren Nicholas, Christopher, and Samantha; a sister, Marilyn Schoenecker; and a brother, Kenneth.
