McKim Daingerfield ’37

Kim Daingerfield died Aug. 12, 2011.

He was born in Baltimore, where he graduated from Gilman School. At Princeton he majored in history, was on the cross-country team, and joined Cloister Inn.

After graduation he worked for a while for an advertising agency in New York. He was later employed by American Airlines and spent four years during the war with the Air Transport Command, during which time his plane was stranded in Quebec and he ate “owls and chipmunks.” He continued to work for various airlines after the war and was a navigator for trans-Atlantic flights.

Kim’s final occupation was in real estate in Setauket and Southampton, N.Y. He also was dealing in paintings of all times and countries. He remained very active in real estate until his death. His address was 34 Harbor Road, St. James, N.Y. 11780.
