Mike was born and raised in Salt Lake City, the eldest of four brothers and a sister. There he earned the rank of Eagle Scout and attended East High School before going on to The Hill School, where he was followed in time by his second brother, Paul ’62. At Princeton Mike majored in English, earned the Thomas B. Wanamaker Prize, and ate at Campus Club. He was active in Whig-Clio, the Campus Fund Drive, and other organizations.

After graduation Mike spent 10 years in sales and management positions at Alcan Aluminum Co. In 1970 he changed directions and entered the health-care finance field, working for several major accounting firms and his own Western Reserve Healthcare Finance for several decades.

After retirement Mike returned to his first love of writing and published several novels and many short stories. Despite growing health problems, he loved hiking and woodworking. He was also active in municipal affairs in several communities in northern Ohio, where he made his home from 1967 on.

Mike died Oct. 2, 2018, of a stroke. He is survived by two daughters, one son, and eight grandchildren, to all of whom we express our sympathies.
