Michael P. Equi Jr. ’66

Body

Michael died Aug. 13, 2021, during a brief hospital stay. Throughout his life, he battled Friedreich’s ataxia, a progressive degenerative movement disorder.

Michael came to Princeton from Holyoke (Mass.) High School. He left Princeton without graduating and later earned a bachelor’s degree from Boston College and a dentistry degree from Columbia University. He served in the Navy in the early 1970s.

Michael and his wife, Martha, settled in Cohasset, Mass., where he established a dentistry practice in 1973. He practiced until 2006, when the effects of ataxia forced him to retire.

He was active in several Cohasset civic and community organizations, including the Jaycees and Rotary Club. He was a passionate Red Sox fan.

Martha predeceased Michael. He was survived by his children and grandchildren, to whom the class extends its condolences.
