Morton Lewis Meyer ’52

MORT DIED July 21, 1991, at the Jewish Hospital of St. Louis, following a sevenmonth struggle with cancer. His funeral was in Temple Emanuel, Creve Couer, Mo, Mort was an S.P.H. major in English, and a member of Dial Lodge. He was managing editor of the DAILY PRINCETONIAN. One week after graduation, Mort entered the U.S. Army, where he served in counterintelligence in France. His military duty shaped his life work: Mort loved travel, the culture of Europe, and French cooking.

After discharge from the Army, Mort entered the travel business in St. Louis. He was founder and president of Caesar Associates Inc., pioneering in the field of offseason tours for airline employees. Mort owned seven business properties in Clayton, and two hotels and restaurants. He was voted Clayton's Man of the Year in 1987. Mort was an avid collector of contemporary art, and served for ten years as a trustee of Hebrew Union College in Cincinnati.

A devoted father, Mort is survived by his widow, Vivian; his children, Nancy, and Thomas; three grandchildren; a brother, Richard; and his mother. To

them we extend our deepest sympathies.
