Nathaniel Henry Aronsohn ’19

Body

NAT WAS BORN in Paterson, N.J., on Dec. 25, 1898, and died in Philadelphia on Sept. 29, 1993.

Nat was one of the youngest members of our class. He was in officer's training when the armistice was declared in 1918. He enlisted in 1942 in the troop carrier command, served in the U.S., and was mustered out in 1945 as a lieutenant colonel. Nat received a law degree in 1929, but never practiced law, as he went into the textile business, where he spent his entire career. He was an accomplished squash player and represented the Princeton Club in NYC in that sport for 10 years. He also played golf.

In 1920, he married Mildred Newman, and they raised two daughtersSally and Suein NYC. Mildred and Sally preceded him in death. Nat eventually moved to a retirement home in Philadelphia to be near Sue.

Besides Sue, five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren survive him. As president of the Class of 1919 for many years, he will live in our memories. He was a great guy!
