Nathaniel Knowles III ’51

Body

Nat was born Sept. 20, 1929, in Philadelphia, the son of Nathaniel Knowles Jr. ’21. He came to us from St Andrew’s. At Princeton he was a member of Key and Seal.

Medical problems eventually limited his participation in active life, and as a result, he left the University in the fall of his junior year. Thereafter he led a sheltered existence.

Nat died Dec. 3, 2009, at Spring Creek Rehabilitation and Health Care in Harrisburg, Pa. He was buried in the family plot in Christ Church Cemetery in Littlestown, Pa., near the family farm.

His was not an easy life. We join his sister Isabelle Trans in remembering one of our own.
