Neil Johnston Sinclair ’45

Body

JACK SINCLAIR died Aug. 16, 1989, although the Class did not learn of his death until last May. Jack, a native Californian, did not enter Princeton with the Class, but transferred to '45 after matriculating at Hun School in Princeton and then taking his freshman year at Berkeley. He served in WWII with the 79th Infantry Division in combat in Europe, receiving the Silver Star, two Purple Hearts, and the Cross of Lorraine for injuries suffered during his tour of duty. He then returned to Princeton and graduated with a B.A. in history in 1945. Thereafter he received his M,B.A. from Harvard and attended law school at Stanford, upon returning to the West Coast, where he spent the rest of his life.

Although Jack had no contact with the Class until shortly before his death, something then prompted him to attempt a personal visit to each of his classmates, advising each in turn of his desire to touch base with them in all during his remaining years. His task was cut short by his untimely death. Jack is survived by nine children and by 21 grandchildren. The Class extends its sympathy to the family.
