Jim was born Nov. 1, 1928, in Elkhart, Ind., to Gladys Hinkle and Norman Blackburn Sage.

Jim came to us from The Hill School. At Princeton, he majored in chemistry and belonged to Terrace. He roomed with Walter Ruch and Stu Sperry.

Following graduation, he served for five years in the Air Force. After three years with the Bakelite Co., he attended the University of Arizona Law School.

Jim died Aug. 23, 2017, at the age of 88. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Sage. His son by a previous marriage to Sylva Denman, Norman, died March 9, 1985.
