Oscar Seaburn Eaton III ’66

Burn died suddenly Feb. 27, 2016, in Montgomery, Ala., his home for many years.
He grew up in Pittsburgh and graduated with honors from Shady Side Academy, where he played football and earned a National Merit Scholarship to study at Princeton. Burn majored in basic engineering and took his meals at Charter Club. He was enrolled in Navy ROTC and participated in the Trenton Tutorial Project. He was a football manager and a keyceptor.
In 1968, Burn earned an MBA from Harvard. He served as an investment manager in New York City and later established and presided over his own firm, the Eaton Group Inc., in Montgomery.
In addition to pursuing his career, Burn was devoted to his family and to a number of organizations and individuals in Montgomery in need of help.
Burn’s daughter, Elizabeth ’93, predeceased him. He is survived by Kingsley Briggs, his wife of 48 years; and daughter J. Carrie Eaton. The class extends heartfelt condolences to them.
