Paul Euwer ’23

Body

PAUL EUWER died of heart failure July 14, 1991, in Greensburg, Penn.

Peck, as he was known in college, came to Princeton from Lawrenceville, where he played football, even occasionally playing against future classmates (Don Griffin played center for the Tome School, and remembers facing off against Peck and the Lawrenceville team in 1917). Peck was an excellent athlete; at Princeton he played both football and baseball and captained the baseball team. He was a member of Tiger Inn.

Peck was the president of the former Euwer and Company, Inc., a family business in Jeannette, Penn., and was a director of Westmoreland Hospital. He received the Silver Beaver Award of the Boy Scouts of America.

Although Peck left the class and later returned with the Class of '24, he never gave up his membership in '23. The Class is proud to claim him as one of its own, and extends its sympathies to his son, Paul Euwer Jr. '581 his daughter, Mrs. Hetty Knox; and his sister, Mrs. Edward G. Bauer.
