Paul died of Alzheimer’s disease June 15, 2011, in Crookston, Minn., where he had lived since 2008. He was 97.

Born and raised in Ridgewood, N.J., he came to Princeton from Ridgewood High School. At Princeton he was a chemistry major and a member of the Glee Club and Clio Hall, and took his meals at Court Club.
 
After earning an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, Paul worked in New York City until he was called to duty in World War II as a Naval officer. He served in the 7th Fleet in the Pacific, separating as a lieutenant commander.
 
Paul had a long career with General Aniline & Film (GAF) in New York City, where he rose to assistant to the chairman of the board and director of long-range planning. In 1962 he founded Hand Brands Inc. in Ridgefield, Conn. In 1986, Paul retired to Grand Forks, N.D., where he lived until relocating to Villa St. Vincent in Crookston. We last saw Paul at our 70th reunion in 2005.
 
Married to Nancy Walker in 1946 and subsequently divorced, Paul is survived by three sons, including Gregory ’76, and their families, and eight grandchildren, including grandson Peter ’09.
