While at Princeton he majored in economics, joined Tower Club, and was active in ROTC. His senior roommates were Tim Smith and Sleep McCune.

After graduation, Pete served two years in the Army. Upon completing his service he returned to St. Louis with Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. Following other positions with Borg Warner and Bell & Howell, Pete began a long career with Skil Corp. in Chicago, Canada, and Australia.

Emerson Electric acquired Skil, with Pete staying on in St. Louis and London. He retired in 2001 after 26 years with Skil.

In 2006, his wife, Joan, died of colon cancer. Pete’s first wife, Katherine, also predeceased him. He found a dear friend in Joan Cochran, who attended our 50th reunion.

The class extends its condolences to Joan; his sons, Pete and Bryan; grandsons, Christopher and Lukas; and his brother, John.
