Peter died June 10, 2024, at his home in Middleburg, Va., in June.

He was born in Chicago and attended Deerfield Academy before coming to Princeton as a member of the Class of ’62. When his father died in 1960, he left school and later returned as a member of the Class of ’64. He majored in philosophy, was a member of Cloister Inn, and was on the staff at WPRB. He left Princeton shortly before his class graduated, spent two years in the Navy, and then graduated with a degree in electrical engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology.

After working two years in magnetic research lab, Peter founded Medicomp Systems, where he served as board chair and president. The firm develops software to facilitate medical documentation and improve medical care. Peter held numerous patents related to the use of AI techniques in this area.

Peter was an avid sailor who captained his sloop Presto to victory in many East Coast regattas. He was also an avid photographer and a music lover. He traveled to all seven continents and 40 countries, but he most loved being on his farm in Middleburg, where he had a prized herd of red angus cattle.

Peter is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; sons Edward and Alexis; and four grandchildren. We extend our condolences to them all.
