Born and raised in Brooklyn, Phil came to Princeton from Midwood High School there. Majoring in chemistry, he brought along his interests in fencing and music, to which he added the orchestra, Whig-Clio, Hillel, and the Pre-Med Society. He dined at Wilson Lodge.

His career began with Columbia Medical School, graduating in 1964, with an internship at Yale in 1965. He did his residency at Columbia in internal medicine in 1967 and a further year in cardiology at Presbyterian Hospital, New York.

He married Susan in 1967 and was swept into the Air Force from 1968 to 1970 before employment with Albert Einstein Medical Center in Brooklyn in cardiology.

After several years there, Phil entered private practice in cardiology, continuing his association with Albert Einstein. At our 25th reunion he reported residency in Scarsdale, N.Y., two growing children and enthusiasm for squash, tennis, and the harpsichord. A few years later he moved his practice to Tampa, Fla., and began a long relationship with the University of South Florida Medical Center there.

Phil died Feb. 15, 2022. He is survived by Susan, their two children, and three grandchildren. Our sympathy to all the family.
