Prasobsukh Sukhsvasti ’35

Body

His Serene Highness Prince Prasobsukh Sukhsvasti died peacefully of cancer in Bangkok on Aug. 12, 1985. Known to us as Ned, he was the 20th son of Lt. Gen. H.R.H. Prince Adisorn Udomdej and was a grandson of H.M. King Rama IV of Siam.

Ned entered the Royal Army Cadet School at an early age and completed his college preparation at Chestnut Hill Academy, in Philadelphia. He was a member of Campus Club and left Princeton in Mar. 1933. In 1938, Ned received an A.B. in economics (with honors) from Miami Univ. in Ohio.

Ned had an interesting and varied career. He spent eight years in government service, including an assignment as an attache in the Thai embassy in Tokyo. He taught and lectured at several colleges, including Chulalongkorn Univ. in Bangkok, and for a time operated his own import-export business. Subsequently, he was a key employee of the British embassy. Author of several books and magazine articles, Ned was a member of numerous professional organizations, boards, associations, and clubs. He circled the globe several times, but never attended a Princeton reunion. Over the years, several classmates had interesting visits with him in Bangkok.

To Ned's widow, Princess Krishna Paktrapimol, their four daughters, two sons, and 12 grandchildren, we send our sympathy.
