Dale died March 25, 2026, in Matthews, N.C.

He came to us from Ramsay High School in Birmingham, Ala., where he was president of the senior class. At Princeton, Dale was the vice president of the Westminster Foundation, a Chapel Deacon, member of the Undergraduate Schools Committee, and the Inter-Club Council. He rowed four years on crew, majored in history, and dined at Campus Club and was president his senior year.

He worked briefly in Princeton’s Admissions Office while earning his Ed.D. from Columbia. Beginning a career in education, he was an assistant professor and administrator at Franklin & Marshall College, followed by 20 years as dean of students and later dean of continuing education at Muhlenberg College. Dale and his wife, Peg, moved to Matthews, N.C., where he became the development officer for the Presbyterian Church (USA) Foundation.

His other interests included golf, indoor rowing, weightlifting, current affairs, religion, and rooting for the Phillies and Eagles. He was active in the Sardis Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, N.C., and the local Rotary Club.

The class extends its condolences to his wife, Peg, and three children, Melinda, Andy, and Scott.
