R. Preston Hazelwood ’26

Body

PRES HAZELWOOD, who left college in June 1924, died Feb. 20, 1993, following a coronary attack. While at Princeton, Pres played on the lacrosse team, was a member of Varsity and Terrace clubs, and had a host of friends. He later earned a law degree from Brooklyn Law School, after completing his undergraduate work at St. Lawrence Univ. Later, he had his own firm in Greenpoint, L.I., combining real estate, insurance, and law. Pres was well known in the communities in which he lived and was active in civic and charitable affairs, in Setauket, L.I.

Edith Martin, whom Pres married in 1939, died in Mar. 1989. Pres later married Catherine Ries, an old friend from high school days, who survives. Our sympathy is extended to her; to Gail Hazelwood, a daughter by the First marriage; to David Martin, a stepson; and David's three children.
