RALPH, AT 80, died Apr. 19, 1992. He prepared at the Gunnery School and transferred to Princeton from Wesleyan Univ. At Princeton he majored in biology and was a member of Charter Club. After graduating from Temple Univ. School of Medicine, he served his residency at the Bronx (N.Y.) Veterans Hospital.

Ralph served three years in the Navy, as a medical officer on destroyers in both the Atlantic and Pacific theaters, and retired from active duty as a lieutenant commander in 1946. He then practiced medicine in N.Y.C., before moving, in 1955, to New Lexington, Ohio. There he founded the Herendeen Clinic (in 1967), was medical director of the New Lexington Health Care Center, was health commissioner of Perry County, and was director of medical services at the Perry County Children's Home, the Perry County infirmary, and the county jail.

He was a past president of his local Cancer Society. Throughout his career he received many awards for outstanding service.

Ralph was a member of the American College of Surgeons and of the Perry County Medical Society.

He is survived by his widow, Mildred Ellickson; sons Stephen and Robert; and daughter Judith.

Ralph lived a meaningful life devoted to his family, friends, and community.
