Ralph R. Drury ’51 *57

Felix was born Sept. 20, 1928, in Youngstown, Ohio, and came to us from Phillips Andover.

At Princeton he majored in architecture, was art editor of the Nassau Lit, an announcer on WPRU, and a member of Cap and Gown. He roomed with Win Allegaert, Peter Fleming, and By Hollinshead.

After serving as a Navy intelligence officer in the Korean War, Felix returned to Princeton to earn a master of fine arts degree in architecture with highest honors, and then established an architectural practice in Pittsburgh. He taught at Carnegie Mellon University before becoming associate dean of architecture at Yale. He also established a private practice in New Haven, concentrating on environments for children.

He served on the alumni council of Phillips Andover, was a director of World Neighbors Inc., and served as a trustee of the Gesell Institute of Human Development and of the Forman School.

Felix died Nov. 27, 2009, after suffering for years from Shy-Drager disease, a form of multiple-system atrophy. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne Holbrook Drury; sons Fritz, Billy, and Michael; daughters Sarah and Jessie; stepdaughter Kate; eight grandchildren; his former wife, Eleanor; and his sister, Felicia Kliment.
