Raymond C. McCreery ’25
RAY MCCREERY was born in Fall River, Mass., Sept 1, 1901. He prepared at Moses Brown and Lawrenceville, A popular and loyal member of the Class, he was on the swimming team and was a member of Tiger Inn. An ardent bridge player, he left us in 1924 to join the Associated Dry Goods Co. in New York, He served in the management of department stores in Butler, Penn., and Kansas City, Mo., and terminated a distinguished and active business career as president of Gilmore Bros., owned by the Upjohn family, in Kalamazoo, Mich. He was active in community and club affairs in each of the cities in which he lived. After retirement, in 1967, he and his wife, Grace, who died in 1979, moved to Belleaire, Fla. He died in a retirement home in Clearwater, Fla., Jan. 30, 1992. Ray is survived by his second wife, Dorothy; a daughter, Ann Turner; four grandchildren, including Bill Turner '78; and three greatgrandchildren.
