RAY HESS DIE D of cancer in his home Jan. 13, 1994. At Princeton, he was a member of Charter Club. An accomplished musician, he played in dance orchestras and in the Princeton band. After graduation, Ray spent a year at the Univ. of Virginia Law School, but left for economic reasons.

He then joined Rust Engineering Co. in Pittsburgh and attended night classes at Duquesne Law School, graduating in 1940. His worked for Rust about 35 years, serving as V.P. and general counsel, then as president and C.E.O. After early retirement, he joined the Pittsburgh Natl. Bank, where he spent about nine years in the trust department as V.P.

Ray was active in civic affairs and was a supporter of the Presbyterian Church of Sewickley. He was a loyal son of Princeton and attended Reunions and regional meetings frequently. In 1938, Ray married Ruth Pealer and they enjoyed a long, happy marriage. Ruth survives, as do their children, Judith McFarland, Debra Willis and Rev. Raymond L. III, and five grandchildren. To them, the class extends its sympathy.
