Raymond Malinowski ’48

Body

RAY MALINOWSKI died Nov. 13, 1992, following a long battle with multiple sclerosis.

Ray worked for Mobil Oil for 34 years. His work took him to many exotic and interesting places throughout the world. His first assignment was in Saudi Arabia, where he met Marilyn Robinson. They were married in 1953. They started their family after returning to New York in 1956. In 1958, Ray was reassigned to the Middle East for five more years, after which he was stationed in France and Venezuela. His work in oil and mining had him traveling extensively in Africa, Europe, and the Phillipines. When they finally moved back to the U.S., Ray and Marilyn settled in Westport, Conn., where they lived for the last 20 years. Ray retired in 1982 with the onset of his illness.

Ray came to us from the Navy. He majored in chemical engineering and was a member of Elm Club. We have fond memories of his sense of humor, quick smile, and loyalty to his friends and university.

He is survived by his widow, Marilyn; his son Mark; daughters Michele Goodson and Lisa Leopardi; and grandchildren. In addition, he is survived by his mother, two brothers, and a sister. To each of them, the Class of 1948 offers its deepest condolences.
