Raymond A. Sterrett ’26

RAY STERRETT, known to many of his classmates as "Skillet," died after a long illness May 6, 1993, at Hospice by the Sea in Boca Raton, Fla. Skillet came to Princeton from the Hill School and for three years graced the kicking chorus of the Triangle Club. He majored in art and was a member of Colonial. He went on to earn an M.D. at Cornell Medical and then was in private practice in Southport ' Conn. During WWII, Ray was a squadron surgeon and served mainly in New Guinea and the Philippines with the 70th Airdrome Squadron, as a major.

Ray and Grace Purdett were married in May 1941 and following Ray's retirement, in 1972, they became residents of Delray Beach, Fla. Their many friends were saddened by Grace's death in January of this year.

With Ray's death, we lost a loyal and popular member of the class. Ray and Grace are survived by a son, Malcolm M. B. '64, and a granddaughter, Anne, to whom we extend our deep sympathy.
