Reece B. Oberteuffer ’17
REECE OBERTEUFFER died at Grosse Pointe Shores, Mich., on Apr. 23, 1990, after a short illness. He was born in Detroit It on Sept. 26,1893, and lived in or near Detroit all his life. He attended Detroit Central High School. At Princeton he roomed in Patton Hall with Sam Bryan. At the end of freshman year he transferred to the Univ. of Michigan and received his A.B. degree in 1917. In WWI he was a second lieutenant in the Quartermaster Corps. After the war he became a construction and real estate appraiser for insurance companies and for the City of Detroit for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Margaret Dewar Oberteuffer; two daughters, Frances McDonnell and Marjorie McClure; ten grandchildren; and five greatgrandchildren. Among the survivors are his son-inlaw, Douglas McClure '45; and grandson, Peter McClure '87. To all of them, his classmates send their sincere sympathy.
