Richard Austin Emerick ’61

Born in Evanston, Ill., he was raised in the Twin Cities and came to Princeton from St. Paul Academy. At Princeton he majored in politics and took his meals at Tower. He was active in intramural athletics and was on the Triangle business staff. He roomed in Blair with Marron Fort and John Kolofolias ’62.

After graduation, Dick went to the University of Minnesota Law School, practiced with a local firm, and had a stint in the state attorney general’s office. In 1971 he went into private practice, where he remained the rest of his working life, specializing in business litigation. He was a member of the Law Review of the Minnesota Bar Association and a charter member of the Minnesota Koi Club, reflective of his long interest in collecting this fish.

Dick is survived by Susan, his wife of 18 years; sons Kyle and Joe; daughter Jenai Blackstone; and three grandchildren. We join them in mourning his passing.
