DICK HAMIUION died Apr. 23, 1989, at which time he resided in Eatontown, N.J. Dick entered Princeton from his hometown of East Orange, N.J., in 1941. He enlisted in the Navy after war was declared and completed his premed studies at Princeton on an accelerated basis in the Navy V 12 program, He then enrolled in Cornell Medical School and received his M.D. degree in 1947. Dick completed his internship at Roosevelt Hospital in N.Y.C. Thereafter, he was a resident in surgery and thoracic surgery at the Bronx Veterans Hospital and other NewYork area hospitals.

Dick served on active duty in the Marine Corps, on loan from the Navy, during the early '50s. He then opened his private thoracic surgery practice in South Orange, N.J. In late 1960, he changed his field of medical specialty to general practice. He actively practiced medicine as a general practitioner in Tinton Falls and Shrewsbury, N.J., from 1960 until his death. He served as the physician for the Tinton Falls Schools for over 30 years.

Dick is survived by his widow, Sondra; by four children of his previous marriage to Doris Marty, Deborah M., Richard B. Jr. '73, Kathryn Hamilton Fink '76, and Sarah Louise; and by Five grandchildren, Christopher Marty Cairns, Brian Lewis Cairns, Lisa Victoria Hamilton, Eric Jerome Hamilton, and Andrew Hamilton Fink. The Class extends its sympathy to all of Dick's family.
