Richard G. Metz ’40

He prepared at Dormont (Pa.) High School and Kiski. At Princeton, Dick majored in chemical engineering, was a member of Triangle Club and Tiger Inn, and participated in the Football Managerial Competition.

His career in chemical manufacturing and sales took him from New York to Indianapolis and then to Cincinnati. He served as district sales manager of Union Carbide’s sales division, as a top executive of Roberts Chemical Co. Inc., and spent the balance of his career with his own company, R.G. Metz Corp.

In our class reunion book, he listed gardening and fishing as other interests.

Dick’s first marriage, in 1941, ended in divorce after producing two children: Karen (Ingalls) and Ann (Schubert). In 1953, he married Beatrice Baxter. Their children were William and Betsy (Fixler). Dick’s classmates offer sincere condolences to all his survivors.
