After a period in merchandising enterprises in Lincoln, he was a private investor and stock market analyst for the subsequent 40 years. For Dick golf was foremost, and he was an active member of Lincoln's St. Mathews Episcopal Church.

Dick's enduring interest in Princeton was manifest in encouraging promising young people to seek admission. His wife, Harriet, succinctly summed up Dick's character and personality when she wrote: "[His] wonderful attributes were a keen mind, absolute integrity, and endless devotion to Princeton."

To Dick's many friends and entire family we offer our deepest and most sincere sympathy.
