Richard M. Hager ’41
DICK HAGER, who spent most of his life in the enchanted land of Santa Fe, N.Mex., died in Valley Cottage, N.Y., Feb. 2, 1994, after a long illness, and was buried in his family's plot in Pinetown, N.Y. He never married.
Born in Forest Hills, Dick came to Princeton from the Canterbury School and majored in politics. The war saw service as an officer in the armys Eighth Air Force in England, where he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal with Five Oak Leaf Clusters.
What he once described as the "most benign and mesmerizing of landscapes" lured Dick to Northern New Mexico, where he pursued a successful career in realestate development with its myriad planning problems. He was a participating member of the St. Francis Cathedral Choir of Santa Fe, but kept up his memberships in Long Island's Rockaway Hunting Club and the famed West Side Tennis Club.
Dick is survived by many cousins, to whom we extend our sincere sympathy.
