Richard Rittenhouse Reese ’52

Body

DICK REESE suffered a massive heart attack Jan. 20, 1991, while he and his wife, Nancy, were strolling on the promenade in New Orleans, His funeral was held in the Highland Presbyterian Church in his home town of Lancaster, Penn.

At Princeton Dick was captain of the freshman basketball team, and joined Cannon Club. He transferred as a junior to Franklin and Marshall College, where he majored in business administration and played basketball and golf. His twoyear stint in the Army was spent mainly at the White Sands Proving Grounds, N.M., "dutifully saluting Lts. McNelis and McLean."

Dick worked that he might serve his community, family, and church. He and Nancy Herr were married June 11, 1955, and they returned to Lancaster where he worked for Alpha Portland Cement. He then joined Admixtures, Inc,, in sales, and worked there for 20 years. He coached little league baseball for 15 years, served on the Conestoga Valley School Board , was president of the Paradise Rotary Club, and at his death, he was supervisor of the East Lampeter Township.

Dick is survived by Nancy, two married sons, four grandchildren, and his mother. To them we offer our profound condolences.
