Richard W. Bruere ’32

Body

DICK BRUERE DIED Mar. 24, 1994, at the Leader Rehabilitation Nursing Center in Yardley, Penn., after a brief illness. A lifelong resident of the Trenton area, Dick worked in the small loan and mortgage department of a bank before WWII. He was drafted into the army, graduated from officers candidate school, and served for five years in the field artillery, receiving his discharge as a captain in 1946. Then, he was deputy director of civilservice examinations for New Jersey. He retired in 1972.

Dick was a most loyal alumnus. He served on the boards of governors of the Princeton Club of Trenton and of the Princeton Campers Club, and he attended almost all of our reunions since the 25th.

He is survived by Lucille, his wife of 53 years; a daughter and a soninlaw, Deborah and Clinton Gardner; two grandsons; and a sister, Juliet Bloor.

The class mourns with them the loss of this loyal and genial classmate.
