Richard Weeks Summey ’28
DICK SUMMEY died Oct. 10, 1992, at the St. Joseph Medical Center in Stamford. He went to Taft School. At Princeton, he majored in history and was a member of Cap and Gown Club. After finishing college, he joined the Scovill Manufacturing Co. in Waterbury, Conn. In 1942, he joined the Bridgeport Brass Co. He spent nine years as general manager of the Noranda Copper and Brass Co. Ltd. in Montreal. He returned to Bridgeport as general manager of Bridgeport Brass, and became a director in 1959. He retired in 1966.
Dick developed his interest and skills in photography, and with his wife, Virginia, visited many lands and cultures. He was always generous in sharing his observations and photos with friends, schools, and other groups.
Dick married Adelaide Bean on Sept. 28, 1934. A daughter Kate was born in 1938. Dick married Virginia Peterson in 1948. He is survived by her, by his daughter Kate S. Frank, by Virginia's daughter Janina and her husband Robert Finsthwaite, and by four grandchildren and six greatgrandchildren.
Dick's sister married Francis W. Roudebush '22, and their son, Dick's nephew, is Peter W Roudebush '57. The family has summered for many years in Greensboro, Vt.
The Class extends its warm sympathy to Virginia and the members of their family.
