Robert B. Rock Jr. ’43

Body

BOB DIED Apr. 4, 1992, after a long bout with spinal cancer, at the age of 71.

Born in East Orange, NJ., Bob went on active duty with the Navy, in the Pacific, during WWII, immediately following completion of his undergraduate work at Princeton.

He later received graduate degrees in business from Harvard and in health systems management from Rutgers. Most of Bob's business life was spent in health related fields, primarily with Johnson & Johnson. Bob's professional involvement included marketing, sales, longrange planning, and Public relations.

Following retirement, Boh continued to do consulting work and to travel extensively. He moved to Wilmington, N.C., in 1986, where fie became actively engaged in several civic and social agencies. Surviving are his widow, the former Eileen Bostrom; two children from a previous marriage; and a brother and a sister.

A North Dodd roommate, Dr. Jim Roberts, who remarried close to our late classmate over the past half century, said: "Bob waged a courageous battle to the very end, to continue his fight for children.''

To the entire family, we extend our deepest and most heartfelt sympathies.
