Body

Robert died peacefully Nov. 7, 2020, with loving family by his side.

He came to Princeton from Ridley College, a private boarding school in the Niagara Region of Canada. At Princeton he fulfilled a passion playing ice hockey during his freshman and sophomore years, and joined Cap and Gown. Robert then returned to Canada, graduating from the University of Toronto with a business degree in 1964.

He went to work in the food and pharmaceutical industries, working for companies in Canada including Warner-Lambert and Procter & Gamble. In 1986, while serving as CEO of Best Foods of Canada, he accepted the position of CEO for its American counterpart, S. B. Thomas. In doing so, he and his family moved to New Jersey, and became U.S. citizens. He later became CEO for Spalding/Evenflo, which led to a move to Duluth, Ga.

In retirement Robert committed himself to the Perimeter Church, where he started two ministries that have touched thousands of lives.

Robert was predeceased by his wife of 27 years, Alice. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; four children through his marriage with Alice; and seven grandchildren. The class offers condolences to them all.
