Robert B. Wilson ’40

Bill Miller ’55 was kind to send us an obituary from the Denver Post reporting Bob’s death Sept. 17, 2011.

Bob prepared at Phillips Academy Andover and followed his brother, Laurence ’33, to Princeton. At Princeton, he majored in philosophy, received the Class of 1869 Prize in Ethics, and was a member of Quadrangle Club. During World War II, he was awarded three battle stars as a field artillery captain in the European theater.

He spent his business years in the Denver and California areas managing and founding various retailing operations. He served as president of the Denver Better Business Bureau, and was on the boards of the Denver Credit Bureau and the Denver Country Club.

He was a dedicated world traveler, golfer, and bowler.

Bob is survived by Valentine (Denham), his wife of 73 years; a son, Robert; daughter Lynn Arnot (Douglas); seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. His classmates extend deep sympathies to them all.
