Robert C. Wolfe ’47

Body

Bob, one of ’47’s many talented medics, died Dec. 1, 2009.

During World War II he participated in Princeton’s Navy V-12 premed program. After graduation he went on to receive his medical degree from the New York Medical College and did his residency at Temple University Hospital. During the Korean conflict he was swept into the Army Medical Corps and served in Europe.

He taught for many years as a clinical professor at Temple and then, in retirement, he became resident physician at Pennswood Village in Newtown, Pa.

Bob was also an outdoors guy who enjoyed vacations in Pennsylvania’s Pocono Mountains, where he went canoeing, hiking, and bicycling.

Classmate Fred Rogers (also a medical professor at Temple and longtime friend) remembers Bob fondly as “pleasant, versatile, and accomplished” and a “beloved” colleague.

Bob never married. He is survived by his sister. We share this celebration of Bob’s fruitful life with her.
