Robert Charles Fox ’40

Body

THE DEATH OF Bob Fox, from cancer, on Aug. 27, 1992 at Newport Beach, Calif., marks the loss of an engaging and wellliked 1940 figure. Classmate Ken Dorwin, one of Bob's college roommates, attended his gravesideservices. Bob is survived by two sons, Robert C. and Gregory L; a daughter, Kimberly; a brotherin1aw, Haviland V. Smith '38; and his dearest friend of 26 years, Barbara Power. To them all we offer our deepest sympathies.

From LaPorte, Ind., Bob prepared at the Gunnery School. His major at Princeton was economics. He was advertising manager of the TIGER and a member of Cottage Club. During WWII Bob served as a naval aviator, after which he began a successful California investment banking career, principally with Blythe& Co. and Paine Webber. He was an extensive and devoted traveler.

In college days Bob was particularly noted for his cheerfulness, vitality, and boundless good humor - qualities which remained throughout his life and which were clearly evident at recent major reunions, Bob regretted his lack of contact with classmates at their Princeton gatherings, which distance prevented him from attending. In recent years he made up for this by traveling to Florida to visit with close classmates wintering there. We will always remember Bob as one who added immeasurably to our "Forever Young and Forever Forward with Forty'' spirit.
