Robert Chase Bergen ’36

BOB, AT 78, died Jan. 3, 1992, in Davis, Calif. He graduated from Neptune High School in Ocean Grove, NJ, where he was a member of its state championship basketball team. After attending the Univ. of Virginia, he entered Princeton with us in 1932, but he soon withdrew. He graduated from and then taught at U.C.-Berkeley.

During WWII he served with the U.S. Air Force as an instructor at the Sioux Falls, S.D., Army Base.

For many years Bob worked as a film editor in Hollywood, From 1958 to 1980, he taught at Sacramento High School.

He was active with the Sierra Club and other environmental groups.

He is survived by a son Geoffrey H., a daughter Karen B. Bell, a brother Philip '44, and four grandchildren.
