BOB NORRIS, a prominent physician and pathologist in the Philadelphia area, died Nov. 24, 1993, at his home in Dunwoody Village in Newtown Square, Penn. He prepared at Exeter, and at Princeton, majored in biology and was a member of Arbor Inn. Bob earned his M.D. from the medical school of the Univ. of Pennsylvania in 1932. He interned there as well, and became the director of pathology.

During WWII, he spent five years in the naval medical corps, and attained the rank of commander. He also served at the naval hospital in Philadelphia and in Hawaii. In 1947, he joined the staff of the Univ. of Pennsylvania Hospital, and became a professor ofc1inical pathology. He retired in 1963, and founded Pendel Labs, which he continued to direct until 1985.

Bob was a member of the Haverford Meeting of the Society of Friends. He belonged to numerous professional associations and wrote many scientific papers. He was a lover of nature throughout his life. He was loyal to Princeton and an enthusiastic supporter of Princeton athletics. The class has lost a distinguished medical expert, a courteous gentleman, and a person of flawless integrity.

Bob married Mary Morris Scattergood June 13, 1931. He is survived by her; by two daughters, Anne N. Baldwin and Victoria N. Dean; and by four grandchildren. The class extends its sympathy to Mary, their daughters, and the rest of the family.
