ROBERT GILBERT CARTER DIED Oct. 26, 1993, at his home in Greensboro, N.C. He graduated with honors from Woodberry Forest Preparatory School in Virginia, where he distinguished himself in academics, athletics, and leadership. He was a Natl. Merit Commended Student.

He received his B.A. degree in the English dept., and after graduating, worked as a teacher and track coach at the Wardlaw Hartridge School in Edison, N.J. He then attended law school at Wake Forest Univ.

Robert's religious principles and commitment to justice permeated his life and his goal was to make life better for all people. He had a talent for bridging the generation gap and was comfortable in the company of all ages-from the very young to the elderly.

The class extends its sympathy to his parents, Esther and Robert; his sister, Gwen Adamson; and his brother, Jerome.
